Original Grinnell, Cast Iron, Enamel Fire Alarm

Grinnell is a company from USA which was acquired by Wormald Australia in the early 1970’s.

This large alarm is 42cm in diameter and was most likely used in a Commercial/Industrial premises.

There is some pitting on the face of the enamel, which is most likely as a result of the environment this alarm was protecting.

This alarm, with its Grinnell makers mark, is a rarer item than its later Wormald marked alarm which is made to identical standards.
